Armay Tuta Bath
Inti Raymi, or the festival of the Sun, gives homage and thanks to Mother Earth for a bountiful harvest. This Quichua celebration is a traditional indigenous festival celebrated in the northern Andes of Ecuador.
A cleansing ritual called Armay Tuta commences the Inti Raymi festival, bringing courage, resistance and fortitude to the participants. The water becomes the means by which man becomes integrated with Mother Earth and achieves a transcendental, harmonious state for the following year. In addition, the Armay Tuta bath drives off bad luck and curses, and maintains the recipient in good health.
